If you haven’t heard of it before, now is the perfect time to start watching Subaru’s “Launch Control” series, an episodic documentary about the world of motorsports. The show started its seventh season in August with a four-episode season premiere and episodes releasing every two weeks after.
The sixth and seventh seasons of the award-winning “Launch Control” series are available on both Amazon Prime Video and YouTube, and each episode is around 20 minutes long. Subaru started the series as a reflection of its long history with performance and racing, working in conjunction with production companies Formula Photographic and Bowes Media.
The series goes behind the scenes of events like the Americas Rallycross championship and interviews drivers and other industry professionals. It follows Subaru rally and rallycross drivers throughout their seasons and lets fans learn more about the drivers and their relationships, and even gives them a firsthand look at surprise additions to the Subaru team.
The series first debuted back in 2013, and its high production value and in-depth stories have kept it going for seven years. The 2019-2020 season has so far covered the 100 Acre Wood Rally, the Olympus Rally, and most recently the ARX Rallycross, among others, highlighting the rivalry between drivers Oliver Solberg and David Higgins.
